Fans of NES games, and users that have played and used NesDS on their R4 3DS cards, can once again take part in getting the latest version of this spectacular NES emulator for the Nintendo DS, DSi and 3DS consoles. NesDS has long been one of the very best NES emulators for the DS and 3DS consoles. It's proven to be the most compatible with a wide range of original NES games, and has truly stood out from the 2 other emulators that were released (and have not since received any updates). This on going work in progress, and regular updates are what makes nesDS so good. When bugs are discovered and games found not to be working perfectly as they should, the developer is quick to fix the issues reported by users, and once again releases an updated version.
We call it a work in progress as it is still, at least for this version, in a BETA stage. So there will be plenty more fixes and solutions for game compatibile and general speed fixes for some of the more demanding games. We can't say anough about just how amazing it is to power up our Nintendo 3DS with the r4 3ds inside, and load up some of the best 8-bit classic games and play away. We pined for a portable NES for years when it was in it's heyday, and it seems that now we have it in the form of this emulator that makes most of the NES games load and play just as they would on regular hardware.
Make sure to download and updated your version of nesDS on your R4. New users that have never used this emulator can of course simply download this version and place it on their micro SD card and start playing right away.
While the updates are more "behind the scenes" and in the compatibility and sound parts of the emulator, you will be able to notice them on the games you play that had sound issues before. From the developer website, he states the following updates and fixes in this version:
