The famous nesDS - the ultimate NES emulator for the Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi and Nintendo 3DS for the R4 3DS cards has reached another version update. The newest version is now at 1.14 and comes with a host of fixes including new fixes for cheat codes. Where the cheat codes were slightly buggy in the last few releases, version 1.14 has now fixed them up and they are working as they should. Using it is just as easy as ever. You simply have to copy the nesds.nds file over to the micro SD card you're using in your R4 3DS or R4 DS, and put your game files into a ROMS folder. Once you load NESDS, you'll be greeted by the menu where you are able to then select the games or applications that you wish to load up and play.
Nes DS is popular because it offers some of the best and most complete emulation available for an NES emulator. While there are a few other NES emulators, they have not been updated in years and they offer poor in game compatibility and issues even with rendering the NES sound and music properly. As always, any emulator (any app for that matter) is only as good the developer or developers who keep working on them to always improve upon their work. No emulator can come out of the gate with every single thing running perfectly. And certainly with thousands of games available, no software could hope to emulate every singe one of them instantly and in their first version. That is why, more than with any other type of apps, updating nesDS and it's compatibility is paramount in making this a must have piece of homebrew.
