ASDA Stop Selling Wii U Consoles And Games

It really looks like the Wii U is having a tough time of it.  We personally like the system here in the office.  It's a good console with a different way to play some great games.  Unlike the Wii though, it hasn't gotten the same attention (positive attention that is) or the same excitement from gamers.   Where the Wii redifined how we play games, and made it possible for everyone to play games regardless of age.  The Wii U aims to bring games to multiple screens, much like with the Nintendo 3DS systems.  Asda didn't even stock the latest Pikmin game, despite it being a top seller and a top game in the UK.  They state on their website that: "Asda continues to offer customers a selection of Wii U games and accessories through Asda Direct, but these ranges are currently not on offer in Asda shops."

Asda is owned by Wal-Mart, and is the second largest grocer in the country.  Losing a retail distribution network of this size will definitely have some hard hitting implications for the Wii U in the UK.  I only hope they'll reconsider as the Wii U library continues to grow and mature.  This is on top of other news from several large game publishers stopping support for the Wii U and not bringing many of their titles to the system.
