Jukebox 3DS Homebrew Brings Shoutcast To Your Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL

The Nintendo 3DS has proven itself to be quite the console for some of the best 3ds homebrew applications and games.  Today we'd like to introduce you to Jukebox DS.  It is fully compatible with the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL systems world wide.  If you're a fan of internet radio, you have more than likely heard of shoutcast.  It's one of the best online free internet radio station aggregators out there.  With apps for iOS and Android, shoutcast puts over 50,000 free streaming radio stations in your pocket.  It's no wonder then that DS, DSi and 3DS owners have been waiting for the chance to bring all of the best online radio streaming to their favorite hand held console.

shoutcast on 3ds

Jukebox DS is a freeware application that makes listening to your favorite shoutcast streams a breeze.  It comes pre-loaded with some popular stations already, and you can also add a whole slew of your own favorites too, to customize your listening experience just as you would on your PC.  Now, anywhere that there's a wifi connection, you'll be able to pop open your 3DS and browse through the shotcast stations for whatever music you're in the mood for.  Jukebox features a visualizer, preset stations, and ability to search and play any and all additional stations along with favorites.  All of the preset stations are the mp3 format, which for the sake of easy compatibility allow you to listen to the streams without any lag or delay.

How to use Jukebox on the 3DS:
Using this app is as easy as it could be.  The first time you run Jukebox on your DS or Nintendo 3DS, you'll be greeted with a quick help menu, which explains all of the different features, functions, and how to use them all.  The visualizer is a nice additional, and the equalizer isn't there just for looks, it's actually functional and playing with it will let you enhance the sound coming from your 3DS speakers.

Simply copy the JukeboxDS.nsd file over to the root of your micro SD card, and launch it using your R4 3DS menu in the GAME section.  We know, it's not a game, but it will load up just fine as well.

Visit our 3DS Homebrew Section to download Jukebox DS.  You will need an R4 3DS or R4i Gold 3DS in order to use this freeware app on your Nintendo 3DS system.
