3DS Homebrew Game Last Survivor DS

Good platform games are getting harder and harder to come by.  Especially with all of the emphasis being on 3D gaming these days.  That's why we were pleasantly surprised when we downloaded and played Last Survivor, a 3DS Homebrew game that works on the DS, DSi and Nintendo 3DS systems.

Last Survivor 3DS HomebrewWith it's retro looking graphics and in depth gameplay, Last Survivor immerses you in the role of a person who has appeared in the middle of nowhere.  Surrounded on one side by large mountains and only the desert to offset the hills on the other side.  Naturally, the first thing anyone would do if they were stuck on a deserted island, or lost in the middle of nowhere would be to build shelter and search for food.  The game adds some monsters for good measure, that come at night, looking for their own meals... and unfortunately, you happen to be what they had in mind for the main course.

The ultimate goal of the game is to have your build a shelter and search the land for food.  You'll come across monsters scrattered around the landscape and the entire experience is quite a mystery - and lots of good old platform fun.

We love this game for it's old school looking graphics, and the simple yet engaging gameplay that gives it a bit of a minecraft type feel - except from a side view perspective.  The controls are easy to learn and master, you can see the control instructions below.

Last Survivor is yet again a great example of the wonderful world of homebrew gaming, and it's one of hundreds upon hundreds of great 3ds homebrew games and applications you can download and play for free with your R4 3DS.
