NesDS for the R4 3DS Brings Your Retro 8-Bit Games Back To Life On Your Nintendo 3DS

There truly is nothing better than kicking back and playing some of the older games we grew up with.  We're OLDER gamers here, so we have some very fond memories of the NES and Super NES systems.  Today, for the sake of this news article, we'll be talking about just the NES console, and the great 8-bit games it brought to the living room.  Now, we're not actually playing these games on an NES console (though we have 2 - and that's just in the office closet) - we're using nesDS, the ultimate Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) emulator for the R4 3DS card.  With the help of this emulator, we're able to play all of our favorite NES games on on Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite, DSi, Nintendo DSi XL and even the new Nintendo 3DS console.  A pretty amazing feat if you ask me.  All of those amazing 8-bit wonders, all available to be played right on our new hand helds.  We've tested just short of 120 games, and so far, all of the games work just as they did on the orginal NES console.  No loss in speed, sound of video quality.  It truly is like having a portable version of these games, ready to play whenever you want.

Growing up with the NES, many of us remember such amazing games as Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3.  Mega Man, Castlevania and R.C. Pro Am - and of course - insert your favotire game name here for yourself, as we all have different games we absolutely couldn't wait to play.  Amazing games for the 8-Bit era.  And while they weren't 3D, and by the standards of todays games, they may be lacking graphically, they really were amazing and breakthrough games when they first came out.  These games hold a special place in our gaming hearts.  I remember waiting anxiously for the second Mario Bros. Game.  Mario World 2.  It was something I could not wait to get my hands on.  And despite having finished it several times in the last 15 years, I was equally as excited to use nesDS to be able to play it on my Nintendo 3DS.  And the R4 3DS makes all of these old games possible.  Thanks in no small part to the dedication of homebrew and freeware developers that create these emulators for all of us to enjoy.  So what are you wating for... Grab yourself and R4 3DS and get playing your amazing old retro games.

And just like there's a YouTube video for dancing cats, there is of course, a youtube video for that too.  Here are 100 NES games in under 10 minutes.  Some of the best NES games every made (and played) all on display.
