Loading... Please wait...Sure... we know. This isn't a 3DS Homebrew game, but with the R4 3DS, you can actually play all of the cool SNES homebrew games just as you would on the Snes itself, thanks to the superb SnesDS Emulator for the R4 3DS Cards. In fact, you can actually take advantage of all the Sega Genesis, NES, Super NES, and even Gamboy homebrew games, so long as you have the right emulator for your Nintendo 3DS. We are going to start covering some of the amazing homebrew games for all of the consoles that your R4 3DS Card can emulate, to give you even more of a taste of just how fantastic homebrew gaming can be.
We use SnesDS and loaded the game on to our r4. The game plays perfectly. Classic Kong is a remake of the arcade classic Donkey Kong. Mario actually started out as Donkey Kongs Nemesis, and it was this game that launch that little italian plumber in to video game history. It's the classic Arcade Donkey kong, but with updated graphics, better music, and gameplay that bring back memories of pumping quarters in to the arcade machine in hopes of being able to continue to try again. All the barrel jumping and ladder climbing is right there, with Donkey Kong trying to steal your princess away from you - unless you can make it up to the top and rescue her from his evil clutches. The game was an instant arcade hit... one of the first true massic arcade hits along with Pac Mac. And you can play it all and relive those good old days on your Nintendo 3DS system.
To get a great idea of the game (for those of us too young to remember it in the arcades) check out the video below. It is a highly addictive game, due mainly to the simple gameplay and the challenging levels that seem to get harder and harder every time you save the princess.
You'll need an R4 3DS, and the Snes DS emulator (available from our 3DS Homebrew section) in order to play this game. This is a freeware title of course, so you are welcome to share it and play it with friends!
