Wood R4 1.36 Released For Nintendo 3DS And R4 3DS Cards

If you're a regular visitor here, for either firmware files or our homebrew section, you'll know that we are huge fans of the Wood R4 third party firmware / kernel for the R4 DS and R4 3DS cards.  And for good reason.  The developers behind the Wood firmware are always on top when it comes to frequent and regular updates, and fixing and correcting bug fixes virtually as soon as they are discovered.  It really is no wonder than that more and more R4 and R4i Card owners choose the Wood R4 firmware for their ds cards.

Just about 2 weeks ago the Wood team released version 1.35 of their sought after software.  It was quite an update that helped fix the few compatibility issues that were present in the previous version.  With 1.36 they have done it again.  Adding support even for Lameboy configuration files right into the kernel.  This may seem like a small little feature, but Lameboy is probably one of the most popular Gameboy emulators for the Nintendo DSi and the Nintendo 3DS system.  Adding the ability to be able to set the config file and the settings is a tremendous leap forward.  It means you can just power up your 3DS with the r4, and start playing right away.

Together with the Lameboy addition, there were some other advanced features added:

Core:

• lameboy option added to globalsettings.ini. see HERE for more information.

Compatibility:

• Several games are fixed, which had incompatibility issues in the prior version.

WIFI-update:

• access points with hidden ssid support added.

• many minor changes/improvements.

• cmp cheats database support added.

You can download it from our R4 3DS Firmware and we suggest you check the official site to know which cards are supported.
