Our R4 DS Games updates continue. This time we bring you one of our favorite games... Explosive Gas for the DS is a homebrew game that you can download and play on your R4 3DS or R4i SDHC Cards for the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DSi and the Nintendo DS lite systems. It's a clone of the popular Bomberman games that have been a tremendous hit on virtually every single game system they were released for. Fans of Bomberman need no introduction to the wild and wacky gameplay that makes the game what it is. The game is actually about as straightforward as any game could be. Your goal is to be the very last man standing. At your disposal are jars of explosive gas that you have to strategically place these jars to both evade the other players as well as eliminate them by blowing them up.
Much like Bomberman, you'll find hidden power ups and extras under some of the blocks and fences that you'll blow up along the way. These can range from double points to extra lives. With the ultimate hidden power up being the double jar, where you can place not one, but 2 jars of the highly explosive gas on the playing field for twice the destruction.
The stand out feature of this game is in how its played... with friends that is. It's actually a multiplayer WiFi game. So you won't be playing just against computer opponents, but against real friends that also have this game. You can host a game, or join a game that one of your friends is hosting for the ulimate party game action.
And just like the Bomberman games we keep refering to, because of this multi player option, the game has endless replay value. You may be playing the same levels, but you're up against another person, and real people can be much more unpredictable than even the best computer opponents.
The game is free. You can download it an install it on your R4 3DS, R4i SDHC or other flash cards, and share it with friends who also have their own R4 Cards. Installation is a snap on any R4 3DS cards, as you don't have to worry about DLDI patches or fixes for homebrew roms. Simply copy the .nds file over to the micro SD card you're using with your R4 and the game will be ready for you to select the next time you power up your Nintendo 3DS system. We'll be adding this game to our 3DS homebrew downloads section in the next day or so. Make sure you download and give this game a try. We are absolutely certain you will love it.
