R4 3DS .org

A new system software update has been released for the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 2DS and Nintendo 3DS XL systems.  The new version of the system OS is now at 3DS 8.0.0-18 and brings with it additional features, functions and bug fixes to hand held systems.

Nintendo have released the latest 8.0.0-18 update for the Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL consoles.  All of our current R4 3DS, R4 3DS Dual Core, R4 3DS RTS and R4i Gold 3DS cards are confirmed to be working on the latest update.  If you have updated to the 7.2.0 compatible firmware, then you will not have to do anything further, as our current firmware version fully supports the latest v8.0.0-18 system software without the need for any new firmware installation.

Both the R4 3DS and the R4i Gold 3DS now have new firmware kernel files available for download from our R4 3DS Firmware section.  In many cases, on almost all Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL system, the R4 3DS Dual Core Cards will continue to work with the latest 8.0.0-18 update, without the need for any new firmware kernel files at all.

The R4 3DS RTS cards also are up an running and working just fine on the 8.0.0 systems, again, with most cards not needing any update whatsoever.  In an effort to avoid any potential incompatibility, we urge and recommend that all of our customers download the latest version of the firmware for their respective cards, to ensure that all cards are running the newest version available.  This is to avoid any issues should there be accidental updates to 3DS and 3DS XL systems performed unintentionally by accepting the update without realizing it.
